SAN FRANCISCO - Monkeypox is a growing public health issue in our community. While the
virus can infect anyone, it is particularly impacting gay and bisexual men. We have very little
time to contain this outbreak and prevent it from getting out of control and potentially becoming
endemic. The good news is that we have an effective vaccine that prevents monkeypox. The bad

San Francisco – Today in Chinatown, Assemblymember Matt Haney and representatives from California Attorney General Rob Bonta’s Office stood with Asian Pacific Islander (API), Black, and LGBTQ leaders to draw attention to the dramatic increase in hate crimes statewide, including the 177.5% increase in reported anti-Asian hate crimes, and to outline statewide efforts to fight these crimes.
Sacramento – Today, Assemblymember Matt Haney (D-San Francisco) passed AB 2068 through the Senate Labor and Employment Committee to address language barriers in workplaces across California. Currently, California’s Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA) are only mandated to post workplace citations and special orders in English.
