Chiu Supports Bay Area Traffic Gridlock Ballot Measure

Thursday, September 14, 2017

(Sacramento) - Assemblymember David Chiu (D-San Francisco) wants Bay Area voters to have the chance to approve new funding for transportation infrastructure projects. Assemblymember Chiu says Senate Bill 595 would give Bay Area voters the opportunity to approve funding for next generation of traffic projects which would result in cleaner air and reduce the amount of time you spend in your car. “At a time when Bay Area residents spend an average of 82 hours a year stuck in traffic and public transit is unable to handle capacity, this would provide significant relief to commuters, reduce emissions, create jobs and improve the quality of life as our population continues to soar,” Assemblymember Chiu said.
