April 2016 Newsletter
It’s been a busy month in both San Francisco and Sacramento. April is the heaviest month for legislative hearings in the Capitol. Almost all of my bills, including our efforts to improve accountability for rape kit testing, increase voter registration among students, and take the Healthy Nails movement statewide, are moving forward.
But perhaps most importantly, earlier this week, I was joined by a dozen of my Assembly colleagues to unveil a plan to provide more than $1.3 billion in state funding for affordable housing programs, addressing homelessness and rental assistance to workforce housing and homeownership. I hope you’ll read more about this below.
In San Francisco in April, we had fun in the Cherry Blossom Festival, the Cesar Chavez Parade, and at various Earth Day festivities. As always, I would love to hear from you if there are issues that we can help with - please don’t hesitate to contact my District Office! I hope you can make it to one of the exciting events we have this month in San Francisco.
